Welcome to Our Ocean Paradise!
Assuming the seas cooperate, we have such a smorgasbord of choices for what to do that sometimes it’s hard to decide! Depending upon the water temperatures, sea conditions, weather and, most importantly, what everyone on board wants – we can fish, swim, snorkel, dive or just take a nice leisurely cruise.
The GREAT news is that, whether we’re fishing or diving – it’s ALL super close to the beach and marina! Palm Beach is wonderfully blessed by being the closest the Gulf Stream comes to the United States. What this means for you is that we don’t have to run far to have some of the best fishing and diving available. Many of the reefs are truly world-class and the famed “Sailfish Alley” is, quite literally, just half a mile straight out of the inlet and a mere 15 minute boat ride from the marina!
When fishing and diving these waters, you have a reasonably good opportunity to see or catch most anything – including wahoo, dolphin (mahi mahi – NOT Flipper), sailfish, kingfish, cobia, amberjacks, sharks, tarpon and (with a bit of luck) even a blue marlin! If our game plan is to fish - we’ll provide all of the tackle, ice and bait (which we may catch live) that we’ll need. If you have a favorite lure, fly or know of a secret fishing spot – please bring it! It’s always great to learn from our friends!
For you divers, the local reefs and wrecks are truly amazing! In fact, within 13 miles either side of the Palm Beach inlet, Sir Reel has over 250 GPS coordinates with some of the most fabulous underwater wrecks (e.g., barges, tugs, ferry’s, etc) and reefs in America. In fact, the local reefs and wrecks have been featured in the various international dive magazines! It is quite common to see giant sea turtles, manta rays, moray eels, an incredible variety of tropicals (including angelfish, starfish, sea horses, parrotfish, etc.) and several different kinds of sharks (nurse, blacktips, hammerheads, lemons, makos, bulls, etc. – YIKES!!!) Oh and one other favorite – “Lobsters, anyone??!!!”
And, for a real Sir Reel Adventure – the Bahamas are less than 2 hours due east of the inlet!
